This Week

Wednesday afternoon at 1:00pm meet in STEPS to find out more about getting involved in (that means getting your hands dirty!) the community garden, located on Emmaus campus.  This is different than the upcoming Garden Club which will meet weekly - if you are looking for less commitment than the Club come to the meeting this Wednesday!

And if you are an ELVIS fan don't miss the party Thursday evening at 6:30pm!  Registration is required.  Remember too if you have registered and don't show up someone else is missing out on the slot they could have had (just call and cancel!).

Movie Review

"The Three Stooges" is now playing in theatres. It is a comedy running 1hr32min and is rated PG.

This movie review is brought to you by Dee Dee F.:

This is the NEW Three Stooges at the Wherenberg Theatre St. Charles. The funniest part - there's a bunch - was the babies, they peed on the Three Stooges. They bonked on each other but it's not really real. The Three Stooges were cute little babies and grew up. When the orphanage was gone they fixed it up really pretty with a pool and everything. They were trying to fix it up but kept messing up; they fell on the nuns. They were acting like morons! Linda and I kept laughing. I would give this movie five stars!

Simple Exercises

I came across this in the St. Louis Post Dispatch and thought it might be helpful for some of you with exercise goals. It is a short video of a professional trainer leading seniors through three exercises that increase strength and balance. I like how the paricipants are standing next to chairs to hold onto should they nead to steady themselves. The website is STLhealthandfitness.com You can click right here.

Eggs

A common U.S. tradition at Easter-time is to dye hard-boiled eggs. Kits are found at all the common retailers and are very inexpensive - the ones that come with cups make it extra-easy. Afterward serve the colorful (peeled) eggs with your Easter breakfast, sliced into a salad, or for a snack. The eggs pictured here were dyed by Sharon W. (once again ignore the date!)
How to hard boil eggs (from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook): Place the eggs in a single layer in a medium saucepan. Add enough cold water to just cover the eggs. Bring to a rapid boil over high heat. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 15 minutes; drain the water out. Run cold water over the eggs or place them in ice water until cool enough to handle; drain.
