Cindy led us on another adventure: apple picking at beautiful Eckert's Farm! Thank you to the volunteers from Firemen's Fund for joining us! If you are interested in going apple picking on your own here are a few links to check out. Be aware that Eckert's is in Illinois and procedure for leaving the state needs to be followed. Click here to learn more about Eckert's. If you would rather head west consider Centennial Farms in Augusta. And here in the St. Charles area off the north end of 94 is Herman's Farm. It is always best to call ahead to see what is available for the day.
Geared for adults with developmental disabilities and direct support professionals, this is a resource for staying active at home and in the community (St. Charles, MO).

Dinner 'n a Movie
Last month SAS offered a new event: "Dinner A Movie" We enjoyed cheesy nachos, tacos, and sangrias along with the film "Three Amigos". For dessert, Mexican fried ice cream. Here is the recipe, from Rachael Ray of the 'food network': Ingredients: 1 pint vanilla ice cream, 2 cups Corn Floakes, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, honey for drizzling Directions: Scoop out the ice cream into small bowls. Crush the corn cereal in a resealable plastic bag and top the ice cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with honey. THANK YOU Pete E. and Chris A. for your helping hands. Watch the November calendar for another "Dinner A Movie".
